Cult of Chucky was released back in October 2017 and went straight to DVD/Blu-Ray and on Netflix (we ain’t mad about it). With our new Bump N’ Go Chucky animatronic being released Friday, we wanted to revisit this horrifying thriller.

Just so you don’t get all flustered, this post contains spoilers for Cult of Chucky as well as a spoiler to the ending of Curse of Chucky. If you haven’t seen either of these movies yet, you’re pretty late to the game. No judgment, though. You just can’t get mad at us if you end up reading something that you really didn’t want to!

This is your final warning: There are Cult of Chucky and Curse of Chucky spoilers below. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!

Here are the 5 times in Cult of Chucky when you probably wanted to look away but just couldn’t:

  1. The First Chucky Scene

When we left off in the Curse of Chucky, the sixth film in the Child’s Play franchise, Andy shot Chucky six times, presumably because Chucky would be coming back for him again at some point. In one of the first scenes of the movie, we get a look at Andy all grown up in his house where he keeps a tortured-looking Chucky head tied up and always within arm’s reach. Even though we’re unsure if Andy is a complete badass or has gone off the deep end, we have to admit that we were freaked out to see Chucky’s mangled head sitting in Andy’s living room no matter what.

  1. When Chucky Is Introduced as a “Therapy Doll”

Admit it—you cringed. If someone has had a horrible experience (or “hallucinations”) that involved a Good Guy doll, why would you ever think it’d be a great idea to use one in group therapy sessions? Okay, Dr. Foley. You’re the worst.

P.S. We sell authentic Talking Chucky Dolls at Spirit Halloween and Spencer’s, too 😉

  1. When You See Three Chucky Doll’s in One Room

Oy vey. You had to feel like Nica was about to die right then and there, am I right? It’s here that we learned Chucky discovered a new voodoo spell that could transfer his soul into multiple bodies. So, what do we now have? Three Chucky’s. In the same room. All plotting their vengeance. Is there honestly anything more terrifying? I mean, C’MON!

  1. When Claire Gets Decapitated

This is hands-down the most thrilling murder scene in the entire Child’s Play franchise. Chucky somehow finds a compressed oxygen tank as well as a helpless Claire who’s tied to a gurney directly underneath a glass window. Even if you haven’t actually seen Cult of Chucky yet, you can probably see where this is going. Chucky slams the oxygen tank down, it flies up, and then it shatters the window into thousands of tiny pieces, except for that one piece that oh so effortlessly slices Claire’s neck, severing her head from her body. But it doesn’t end there. Her decapitated head then rolls over to Chucky’s feet where he says, “Sometimes I scare myself.” We agree, Chucky. We agree.

  1. When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Worse, but Then You See TIFFANY

So Charles Lee Ray’s soul gets transferred into Nica’s body. Kind of sad about that, but we can make it through. If Chucky and Jennifer Tilly are finally going to live happily ever after, good for them (just no more murders, please). Once they get into Jennifer’s car, she tilts the review mirror, and HELLO! There’s Tiffany, the doll that Jennifer’s soul used to embody. This scene was a little different from the others. It’s not like we wanted to look away because we were scared; we wanted to look away because we just couldn’t believe it.

We can’t help but feel that the end of the Chucky era still is not even close to ending. And you know what? We’re ready for more! But in the meantime, make sure you give your family and friends quite scare by chasing them around or sneaking up behind them our Bump N’ Go Chucky animatronic which talks and has six famous (and creepy) Chucky phrases.
