America’s most loved monsters are back and ready to hit the high seas! Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation will premiere in theaters on July 13, 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what kind of adventure this spooktacular family will embark on this summer, especially after watching this hilarious trailer.
The plot is unlike any other storyline the Hotel Transylvania fan base has seen before. This comes as no surprise when you consider that the movie was inspired by the director’s recent experiences during a family cruise. To sum it up without giving TOO much away, after becoming stressed out and lonely, Dracula decides to use a monster dating app called Zingr, but his daughter, Mavis, has a better idea to give him a break from running his hotel: a monster cruise vacation. So, what exactly does a vampire family do on a cruise? Well, after bringing a TON of sunscreen, apparently, they partake in lots of fun activities like massages, dance parties and in Drac’s case, finding love! All of the monsters set sail and are having a blast; that is until Drac falls for the human captain of the ship, Ericka, who holds a mysterious secret that threatens to send this journey off course.
We can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, but we’re happy to announce that all of your favorite characters are back AND there are some new faces, too: Ericka, Van Helsing, Crystal, Griffin’s invisible girlfriend, and the Kraken.
