A Holiday Whoobie-Whaty? You may not actually be a resident of Whoville, but that doesn’t mean you can’t throw a party like one! Dress up, deck the halls, and get ready for the holiday season. Follow these tips to make sure that your Grinch-themed Christmas party is just as grand as the traditional Holiday Whobilation.
1. Dress the Part
The first step to throwing the perfect Grinch-Themed Christmas party is to make sure that your outfit is just as Christmas-obsessed as all the rest of the Whos! In Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, every Who wears bright shades of red and green with tons and tons of accessories from head to toe, like scarves and stockings right down to their festive shoes. Pick out your favorite ugly (or cute!) Christmas sweater or Christmas costume and you’ll be good to go in just a second. If you want to really step it up a notch, style your hair in a classic, Who-fashion with lots and lots of hairspray.
2. Elect a Holiday Cheermeister
You can’t have the perfect Whobilation without electing someone as the official Holiday Cheermeister! Liven up the party by nominating a few different people to be in charge of joy and Christmas spirit. It will all come down to a vote, and the one who receives the most votes will be the honorary Who for the night! And remember, what good is the Holiday Cheermeister without a festive hat and hair accessories that will dress up the jolly Christmas sweater they’re already wearing? A snowy Christmas hat would be the perfect accessory!
3. Decorate!
We totally understand if you don’t want to hang lights outside the house this year since you don’t have one of those fancy automatic Christmas light machines like Martha May Whovier. But you can still decorate your party location with other things! Set up an inflatable lawn decoration or shine red and green spotlights on the entrance so everyone knows where the Whobilation will be!
4. Watch the Movie & Reenact Your Favorite Scenes
How can you not love when the Grinch nearly gets caught stealing Christmas by sweet little Cindy Lou? Or when everyone feeds him their own version of Who pudding? What better way to end your Grinch-themed Christmas party than by watching Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and reenacting all of your favorite scenes while dressed as Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch himself? Maybe your elected Holiday Cheermeister will even end up carving the roast beast!
It’s about time to start planning your Grinch-themed Christmas party! After your extravagant Whobilation, you’ll be the talk of the town (or Whoville) for weeks. Some say your heart will grow three sizes that day.
